Last year I started going to more and more races to shoot the racing action and just did not have the time to write on this blog. This year I've decided to push myself even more and try to do both. I hooked up with a racing site on the net and was supplying them with photos for their site to get more exposure as a photographer.
I had a great year shooting races at Nashville, Bristol, Atlanta, and Martinsville. It kept me pretty busy. I worked shooting in the pits and on pit road along with being in the garage area before and during the races.
This past weekend I attended the Sprint Sound and Speed festival presented by Suntrust and had a great time. I got to attend all the press conferences with the drivers and current country music superstars. Saturday night was the blowout concert with The Wrights, Jason Michael Carroll, Taylor Swift, and Alan Jackson. It was a hoot and I got some really great photos. The highlight of the day was getting to interview Dale Jr. His plane was late getting there but he was happy to sit down and talk.
Other drivers attending was Richard Petty, Clint Bowyer, Dave Blaney, Jammie McMurray, Scott Wimmer, Aric Almirola, Brad Coleman, David Stremmie, Reed Sorenson, Ryan Newman, Bobby Hamilton Jr., Joe Nemecheck, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Kyle Petty. Ray Evernham also attended the press sessions.
Music stars that were there included Ashley Monroe, Cowboy Crush, Craig Morgan, Josh Gracin, Richie McDonald, Bryan White, Bucky Covington, Daniel Peck, Marty Roe, Dierks Bently, Jason Michael Carroll, Julie Roberts, and Wayne Taylor.
