Keller And Johns Tangle In Nashville

Photos by Steve Langley

On a cold and windy Saturday at Nashville Superspeedway Jason Keller and Richard Johns got together in turn three and ended up taking each other out of the race. Keller driving a Ford for Brewco Motorsports made a few more laps and had to retire on lap 133 finishing 33rd in the field of very few buschwackers on the Easter weekend race date. Keller whose hometown of Greenville, South Carolina, was making his first 2007 Busch Series start in the Pepsi 300, is sharing the ride in the #27 Ford for five races this season. Nextel Cup driver Ward Burton will be the primary driver of the Kleenex Ford in 20 races this season with Bobby East and Jorge Goeters sharing the remaining events. In 2006 Keller drove in a couple races including his 400th career series start.

Rensi Motorsports driver Richard Johns started the day in the 23rd starting spot retired the race two laps earlier than Keller finishing 34th in his FreeCreditReport.Com sponsored car. He is a race engineer for Team Rensi and will drive all the stand alone Busch races in 2007. He will share driver duties with Cup driver David Gilliland. Johns has two ARCA RE/MAX Series starts.
Next week the Busch drivers tackle Texas at 2:30 eastern time. Hopefully the weather will be nicer than it was in Nashville.
